Achievements made by Tariff Commission

The Tariff Commission, and the erstwhile BICP, has always advocated a regime of industrial/economic liberalization, and made recommendations which have been accepted for implementation, including phased/full decontrol or price and distribution of various products. The Tariff Commission has always advocated move towards the regime of open general license with suitable tariffs on intermediates and final products, so that the industrial sector becomes Internationally competitive. The recommendations/studies accepted for implementation, study reports appreciated/supported/used by Ministry/Department and recommendation proposed in IDS reports (addressed in budget proposal since 2014-15) are the major achievement of the Tariff Commissions and listed as per the links.
