Advice Government on all Tariff related issues for goods & services & fixation of Tariff & evolve an overall Tariff structure & Tariff rationalization including the examination of transition period for gradual phasing out of Tariff for select industries & identification of tariffication process for select economic activities.
Classification of goods & applicable tariffs.
Examine market access offers from trading partners and to maintain & monitor tariff changes of competing & trade partner countries & inventories tariff rates.
Carry out studies on cost of production of different goods & services & its competitiveness in relation to other countries.
Conduct detailed impact analysis in select sectors like textiles, agriculture, automobiles, steel, information technology, chemicals & engineering goods.
Carry out studies of items under market price regime but subject to unfair pricing to the consumer.
Core function of BICP including pricing, efficiency, improvement and cost reduction, issue of Public & Private sector, Industrial Product & Services
